Communicating for School is a free early intervention program that helps children aged 4–8 years build the speech, language and early literacy skills they need to succeed at school.
The program is designed for children who have mild to moderate difficulties with talking, understanding language, speech sounds, or early reading and writing skills.
Each eligible child will receive:
1 x Individual Developmental Assessment Session
Includes: Communication assessment and developmental screener
5 x Therapy Individual Therapy Appointments
Child-focused intervention with embedded parent coaching and home strategies
1 x Summary Report
A summary of progress, strategies to try at home and recommendations for future intervention or referrals
Parents and carers are an important part of the program. You'll learn simple strategies to help your child develop their communication skills during everyday activities at home.
By supporting children early, we can help them develop the confidence and skills they need to communicate, learn, make friends, and thrive in the classroom.
